Company Narrative

Netflix, a streaming media company, has been ranked as a LATE BLOOMER on the Women’s Power and Influence Index. 

While the information on Netflix’s subsidized childcare policy or existing childcare policy, Netflix does have women-specific health care benefits in place, such as fertility and adoption assistance. In addition, Netflix monitors its pay disparities annually and has a clear equitable pay policy in place. Via its Netflix Fund for Creative Equity, Netflix continues to invest in underrepresented communities worldwide.

As of 2022, women make up 49.42% of Netflix’s workforce, and 51.77% of leadership positions are held by women.

Netflix lacked sufficient data in many key criteria areas including pay parity, women’s mentorship programs, and the existence of a childcare policy.

Wade Davis heads inclusion for the product and technology teams, with a charter to increase the number of women, Black and Latinx folks in technical roles. To build more inclusive teams and remove exclusionary practices, his team led coaching sessions for product leaders. One example: “train the trainer” group coaching sessions, where the inclusion team guided product leaders on a self-assessment of where they’ve historically hired from and how they can evolve that practice to bring in people from different backgrounds.”
